Literature

There is quite a lot of reasonable stuff on the web concerning acid-base.
  1. Hypertension Dialysis Clinical Nephrology has a good section on acid-base, and electrolytes.
  2. The Virtual Anaesthesia Textbook has a new section on acid-base that is fairly substantial. Also see their section on respiratory physiology.
  3. Look up the Henderson Hasselbalch equation!
  4. Tulane has a comprehensive acid base tutorial aimed at e.g. medical students.
  5. Alan Grogono has some pretty darn good stuff on acid-base fundamentals. Also try playing around with the Davenport diagram!
  6. Myelinolysis in hyponatraemia is well discussed in an article from the Annals of Internal Medicine.
